After studying management, I decided to continue my family's legacy of black clay handicrafts. Since then, I have created innovative works in Oaxaca, as well as in Spain and Guatemala, winning national awards. I attended associations such as mubar (mud women) and attended specialized courses in high temperature furnaces, molds and surrounding areas run by icapet.

Our workshop starts in St. Martin We started in Oaxaca and described the shamans in our zapoteca culture with wooden masks used in community carnivals. Our grandparents told us that nahuales and tonas are people with special talents. Each person is born with a kind of protective animal (Tona). It will accompany and protect your whole life. In the past, soot was thrown into the door at night so that you could tell the baby's voice (armor, hyenas, jaguars, etc.) from footprints. Today, alebruecker doodles with acrylic paint and some natural pigments, using techniques that have been passed down from generation to generation. Among these techniques, a punctuation is highlighted, with scales, flowers and degradation, showing the symbol of Zapotec.

For more than 20 years, I have been crafting in a community near tulam We started doing handicrafts, making wood carvings like jaguars, Turkmen, deer, and all the animals that live in the forest Then we began to embroider different fabrics, and today we see other craftsmen open and close their doors, but we stick to the simple fact that we love what we do, and we always have to fight for what we love.

Jesús Hernández Torres, I am part of the third generation of the “Hernández Family” dedicated to carved Copal wood crafts. At the age of 8 I started working in my uncle's workshop and little by little I grew until in 2000 I became independent and formed my own workshop "Copal Mágico" together with my wife Roxana Ortega Gracias. Together thanks to the style, work and dedication that we impose on the pieces, they have managed to win us national and international awards. We are a company that creates alebrijes, tonás and nahuales, pieces of magnificent beauty and quality through which we transmit our invaluable culture inherited by our ancestors and at the same time we bring the visitor closer to knowing the long and complex process of making these magical pieces.

I am Jesus Rafael, a Huichol native from the north of the mountains of the state of Jalisco, my specialty is making crafts that are made with colored beads strung on needles, which are then inlaid with wax on wooden or resin figures. In them I capture my designs and figures whose symbols have a very important meaning for our people, such as the peyote that symbolizes health and success; the corn that represents prosperity and the center that is the eye of God that means protection.
